Calling the Winds This is a spiritual ceremony during which everyone faces the four directions and asks the Winds to witness and bless the union.

The Vessel and the Flower This is a unity ceremony in which the bride presents the groom with a vessel, which is a symbol of his strength and endurance. The groom presents the bride with a flower, which is a symbol of her beauty and life. May or may not involve vows.

Wine or Water Ceremony (Sometimes called the Liquid Unity Candle) The couple share a cup of wine or water while the officiant says a blessing and/or a reading. This ritual is performed in many different cultures and has just as many different versions and reasons for the rite. Symbolism varies. May or may not involve vows.

Hands Ceremony This ceremony is a good alternative if the couple does not exchange wedding rings.
